Hyatt Place Opens in Colorado Springs

NGC is pleased to announce the Hyatt Place Hotel in Downtown Colorado Springs is open for business. This new seven-story hotel has 120 beautiful guest rooms with an indoor pool, lounge, cocktail bar, breakfast buffet, kitchen, meeting spaces and a fireplace. The 1st floor parking utilizes valet service and also includes 11 hydraulic car lifts to maximize the on-site parking for guests.

NGC’s Project Manager Scott Meinke spoke of NGC’s efforts to stay on schedule and open the hotel, “The project team including the owner and architect worked very well together to keep the project moving throughout the COVID pandemic.  While we did experience a few material supply challenges the team worked together to find solutions that worked for the owner and Hyatt to keep our schedule as close to plan as possible.  Considering that this project started in 2019 and the schedule was based on life pre-COVID, we are happy with the way things turned out and that is a testament to how our owner, architect, Hyatt and our on-site team were able to function in very unique circumstances.”

The 87,168 SF hotel is located in downtown Colorado Springs, on the southeast corner of Kiowa Street and Nevada Avenue.  It is walking distance to the majority of the downtown restaurants, bars and businesses. This building also includes a small retail space on ground level that owner plans to lease out.  The building design and finishes incorporate not only Hyatt’s prototype finishes for Hyatt Place properties, but also colors that blend well with the Colorado region.  The construction consists of a combination of pre-cast concrete post, beams and hollow core along with light and heavy gauge metal framing, bar joists and concrete floors.
