Avid Candlewood is going vertical

NGC is happy to report, despite North Platte having the snowiest January on record, the Avid/Candlewood Suites job site crews were able to get the underground work completed and the building slab poured to be ready to start going vertical. This new, ground-up, dual-brand hotel by IHG will be the first of its kind.
As February 10, 2022, the structural steel installation is nearing completion and first floor wall panels are being stood. NGC’s Edwin Berrios and Toby Ehne have been coordinating with the wall and truss manufacturer and framing subcontractor to make sure framing goes smoothly and material is always on site to keep production going. Due to the 123-room hotel being the first of its kind, NGC’s Tanner Letcher and Christian Foster have been working closely with the design team and IHG to navigate any design conflicts and provide necessary information to ensure there are no hold ups that slow construction. “Making sure the correct materials are ordered and installed to align with the brand’s vision has been a new challenge we are experiencing with this project, but we are excited to get the building enclosed and start getting finishes in place,” said Project Manager Tanner Letcher.
The Avid/Candlewood Suites is located just south of Interstate 80 and across the street from the 20^th Century Veterans Memorial. Amenities of this new property will include a fitness center, on-site guest laundry, 24-hour market, and an exterior gazebo with BBQ grills and seating area.
