Location: Greater Denver Area, I-25 Corridor, Colorado Springs, CO
Position Summary: The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting Project Managers and/or Superintendents in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. The position will be required to assist with coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications.
Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday, $60,000-$75,000
Essential Functions:
- Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions.
- Participate in the estimating and change management process and tools, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals, distribute documentation as requested.
- Coordinate approved purchase orders for timing and delivery to support project completion material purchases, project changes, and repairs where appropriate to support project completion.
- Work on site, as required, with the project team to carry out a variety of tasks such as monitoring crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantity and equipment.
- Participate in activities such as punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and prepare the necessary documentation.
- Post drawings and specifications with most recent information.
- Organize and participate in various project meetings. Prepare and disseminate required documentation as appropriate.
- Coordinate and inspect work and prepare a variety of reports including project daily reports, weekly progress reports, unit reporting, percentage complete, daily manpower, production schedules, equipment tracking, etc. in order to support the project.
- Perform job site observations with project leadership.
- Create procurement logs based on the project schedule and specification requirements. Track shop drawings and follow up with deliveries as directed by the project team.
- Provide progress updates and report back to the project team to support the scheduling process.
- Build relationships and develop communication and interpersonal skills with tradespeople and project team members such as foreman, superintendents, subcontractors, etc.
- Perform pre-punch list walk thru with Project Manager and Superintendent, maintain punch list with Project Manager and Superintendent, and distribute all punch lists and the follow-up as necessary to ensure timely completion of punch list work.
- Collect all required close out documents for certification, assemble the close out documents and address non-compliant subcontractor directly for compliance.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the various functions and support roles across the company and how each contributes to the success of a project.

Skill Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- OSHA 10 Certified.
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
- Communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office, proficiency in project management and accounting software such as Procore and Sage300.
- Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to projects.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
- Project Management experience preferred; Construction experience required.
- In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

- Frequent communication with internal and external contacts; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive use of hands.
- Environmental factors include working in temperature extremes of 0 to 100 degrees; inside or outside with exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors, and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Equipment on an as-needed basis may include gloves, lanyards, safety harness, face mask, and hearing protection.
