NGC's Two North Platte Projects Kick-Off During June Nebraskaland Days

NGC is getting ready to kick off two new projects in North Platte. The first is the redevelopment of Platte River Mall and the other is the new North Platte Mixed-Use Retail and Apartments building. The Mall is located on South Dewey Street and will remain OPEN during renovation: Visit the PlatteRiverMall – Shopping Mall Facebook page.

These projects will get started in June 2021, coinciding with the start of Nebraskaland Days. This timing is creating a lot of excitement in North Platte!

These projects are scheduled to complete in multiple phases, wrapping up in late 2021 and into 2022. The North Platte Mixed-Used Building will be a 146,767 SF four-story structure consisting of retail space on the first level, with 96 apartments on levels two, three and four. There will also be 32 garages for residents.

The existing 484,000 SF Platte River Mall will remain open and undergo renovations in multiple phases over the next two years. The Platte River Mall posted online: “Hello, lovely North Platte!! I know the construction beginning at the mall has people confused. We are NOT closing!! We are re-vamping! It will be amazing. Until then, just know, we are still here for you. We are open. We are excited for the upcoming changes. Thank you for being patient with the process. We appreciate and respect all of the community support.”

The renovations on the exterior this year will include new paving, sidewalks, utilities and landscaping along with some new building façade. Interior renovations this year include a new anchor tenant that will be opening in early 2022 and updates to the building mechanical and electrical systems.  See ABC’s tv news clip about the Mall here.

This will be NGC’s second trip out to North Platte to build projects in recent years. In 2017, NGC built the Tru by Hilton hotel along the north side of I-80 and are excited to be back building again in North Platte.
